SUMMER INTERNSHIPS

About: LBR summer internships offer students the opportunity to conduct original hands on science research. Students are eligible for a stipend of over $1,000 by completing an 8 week summer internship, working 20 hours per week, for a total of 160 hours. Interns must be able to travel to Lower Brule High School daily. Although hours are somewhat flexible, students are generally expected to complete their internship hours between 8:30am and 1pm, Monday-Friday.

Benefits: Stipends will be paid out through two installments - after half (80 hours) and full (160 hours) completion of the internship. Stipend amounts are equivalent to approximately $8.50 per hour. Besides earning money, research internships give students a fun way to learn about science and the opportunity to work on a project that can help people in their community. This experience is also great to put on a college or job application.

Timeline: Students may apply for an internship position starting February 5th. All applications must be submitted by March 5th. All applicants will be notified of positions by May 5th.

Eligibility: To apply for an internship position students must be in grades 7-12 and able to travel to Lower Brule High School daily..
